While universities and government-funded research centres delve into various aspects of the Indian knowledge tradition, a vast reservoir of knowledge is being created. Even though all the research is on the knowledge tradition, research on the practical application of Vedic rituals, known as Karmakanda, is conspicuously absent. Many customs related to Karmakanda have withered away, scriptures are hard to come by, and there is a dearth of guiding Acharyas. In such a scenario, merely recitation of Vedic mantras does not lead to their practical utilisation.
For the benefits of Vedic knowledge to reach society, it's imperative that the chanting of mantras is complemented with practical application. Therefore, the establishment of the Vishveshwara Vaidika Research Center in Kashi by the Kudali Sringeri Mahasamsthana aims to conduct a wide range of research, employing modern technology, to preserve Vedic rituals in their purest form.
